Mystery By Design Recap. Fund$ Raised For 'KiDS NEED MoRE'!
by Barbara Viteri
A big mystery was solved on October 18th. Not who killed interior designer "Scott" at the Designer of the Year Awards, (the evening's mystery theme) but would enough funds be raised for the 'KiDS NEED MoRE' organization? The suspense was "killing" us, but we can officially report it has!
The Designers + Builders Alliance of Long Island is proud to confirm that the sold-out event held at Stark Carpet raised enough money to not only send a few lucky kids to KiDS NEED MoRE's CAMP ON WHEELS but a whole bunch of kids to camp for FREE!!!
D+BA of LI Executive Director, Suzanne Sokolov released in a newsletter the following:
Sincerest thanks to our incredible and talented celebrity cast, over-the-top charitable attendees, awesome volunteers and generous sponsors, including Stark Home, Showcase Kitchens, European Granite + Marble, Color X, Engel + Volkers Real Estate, Creepwalk Media, Gaetano Florist and Gardens, Need it Now Courier, Vernon Display Graphics, DJ Kareem, Vista Printing, Complete Window…Spirit, ZYR Vodka and media partners, HOUSE Magazine and ASPIRE Magazine.
Shout out to the tireless work of the D+BA of LI MbD committee: Chair - Marlaina Teich, with Ellen Baker, Karen Arpino, Keith Mazzei, John Starck and Irena Skoda - - super, super job!!! And...last but surely not least, Nicole Passman, Showroom Manager at Stark in Syosset - when NO is not an option, she gets it done.
Because of you all, we were able to raise a lot of money that will be handed over to KiDS NEED MoRE for their CAMP ON WHEELS and also we can now send a whole bunch of kids to camp for free!!!
We have a feeling this will be a yearly "Top Five NYC Design Events You Won't Want to Miss" type of occasion. So here is a recap in pictures and hope come next year, you'll join in on a killer good time.
